The small is in the large, the large is in the small\u2026this is how we might sum up the exhibition Les Ultimes<\/em>.\u00a0By using new digital technologies, the painter\u2019s eye is able to examine, as if through a telescope, a piece of his picture and from it gather the vision of a profound, unsuspected world.\u00a0The detail underpins the whole and the whole nurtures the detail. This interdependence permits the existence of the work, its appearance in time and its silent presence.<\/p>\n

Like lunar faces coming from the meanders of dreams, Les Ultimes<\/em> are above all the expression of a calm, peaceful truth.\u00a0Because their eyelids are closed, these hazy figures have learnt how to see in a different way. Like so many gleams in the night, their faces light up the path of something new and dreamlike.\u00a0Les Ultimes<\/em> are also the capture of a detail, at the heart of the painting.<\/p>\n

As subject and master of its own picture, the detail here assumes the power of the whole.\u00a0It proves its self-sufficiency by giving rise to an amazing series of numbered edition.<\/p>\n
