In this second part of the exhibition of art jewellery, the Galerie Cipango is showing the solid ebony works of the painter Christophe Tissot.<\/p>\n

These sculpture-like cuffs, rare in the history of jewellery, echo a graphic and painted oeuvre which this artist has been producing from more than 30 years. Faithful to the \u201cseries\u201d spirit which hallmarks his paintings, they express lines of tension, scrolls, features and engravings which inform his canvases and his large Indian ink works.<\/p>\n

This work gives rise to a world of highly architectured forms conjuring up shapes which are powerful enough to inhabit larger spaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver time, I\u2019ve built a world of giants. I\u2019ve seen my wooden and bronze cuffs, like geological arches, marked by the imprints of past centuries. Others are like oak trunks, or futuristic forms travelling in space, drapes caught in mid-air, bits of Indian ink, or slumbering faces hailing from my paintings\u201d.<\/em> C. Tissot.<\/p>\n

For ten years (from 1989 to 1999), the Yves Saint-Laurent house would come looking for his pieces, and place many orders for them.<\/p>\n
